Senior Ladies 2017, the Journey is not over yet!
The senior ladies team bowed out of the New Ireland Assurance Dublin Senior Championship at the semi-final stage on Wednesday evening last in Broomfield, to a strong Ballyboden team.

Syls Trio Playing For Dublin
Syls trio to take the field in Leinster semi-final in Timahoe. Sinead , Niamh and Nicole are all in the starting fifteen which take on Laois to morrow at the early kick off time of twelve o clock . Niamh fills the midfield birth while Nicole and Sinead field in the forward lines. Best of luck to the girls
Support Welcome for Senior Girls Wednesday 31st May
Our senior girls take on Na Fianna in the 2nd Round of the New Ireland Assurance Dublin Senior Championship in Broomfield at 7:30pm. Na Fianna drew their first game while Syls had a comprehensive win away to Clan na Geal Fontenoy last Wednesday.
Great start for Senior Ladies in Champsionship
The senior girls ran out comfortable winners against Clanna Gael/Fontenoy 6-15 to 4-6 this evening in Ringsend. In the first round of the New Ireland Assurance Dublin Senior Ladies Football Championship Group A.

Best of luck to Katie O'Sullilvan & Dublin U14 squad who play Meath in Leinster Final in Clane @3:30pm Saturday 6th May. The team is managed by Declan Darcy who is also part of Jim Gavin's management team. I hear they play a lovely brand of football, with our Katie spear heading his attach at Number 14 for Dublin.
U13 Girls succumb to Robert Emmets
St Sylvesters v Robert Emmets on 29 Apr 2017 - St Sylvesters travelled to Robert Emmets on a blustery Saturday afternoon. St Sylvesters played with the wind in the first half, which they dominated. Unfortunately, St Sylvesters girls were unable to convert the possession into scores. In this keenly fought first half, St Sylvesters trailled Robert Emmets 0-3 to 1-4
Ladies win under lights
It was another great win on home turf for our senior ladies against Man O War. It was played under the new floodlights in Broomfield and many turned up on the sidelines to show support for their team. Final score 22 to 1-11.
Dublin Minor Ladies win
Magnificent win of the Leinster final by the Dublin minor women's team against Kildare today. Final score 6-13 to 2-12. The team included ( pictured above) our very own Kate Sullivan and Danielle lawless. We need to really publicise how amazing this is for our club that we have two Dublin minor players ( not to mention our Dublin senior players/ captain). Also to mention the match this coming Wednesday in Broomfield at 7.15 at which both girls will be playing. Thanks Karen

LAFL2 St Maurs 2-07 St Sylvesters 5-08 Great to win away to the ever improving Maurs, Congrats to the senior ladies on their win over St Maurs in Rush last night.The team showed both energy and great teamwork to defeat their opponents by 10 points. Ladies section nursery coaches completed the tri triathlon in Portlaoise yesterday. For some this was their first tri and after the amazing day they had won't be their last!!"

Mick Bohan Dublin Ladies Gaelic Coaching Course
Several coaches form Syls attended a very interesting coaching coach on Saturday organized by Mick Bohan the Dublin ladies manager. The goal of the course was to increase skills levels and raise funds for the Dublin Ladies senior football squad. The various sections of the course by Mick's management team. The Dublin Ladies Senior squad were on hand to demonstrate the drills and the skills.

Dublin Ladies play Donegal in Parnell Park on Sunday at 2p.m. This should be a cracker. Only a point separated the teams in last year's Championship match. Both teams have registered two wins and one loss in the League. Do support the girls on Sunday and we wish Niamh a speedy recovery from her recent injury

Ladies Section AGM
The AGM was held on January 24. A good attendance heard annual reports from the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Two long-serving people, Angela Aherne and Katerina Ryan, stepped down from their positions on the committee and were thanked for their selfless service over the years. Angela Aherne, former Secretary, has gracefully agreed to stay on as a delegate to the county board.
Sinead Aherne announced as new Dublin Senior Captain
St Sylvester’s, Sinead Aherne has been announced as the new Dublin Ladies senior captain taking over the position from Noelle Healy who will now take on the role of team vice-captain.
Ladies AGM Tuesday 24th
The Ladies Section AGM will be held on Tuesday 24th January at 8.00 pm. We look forward to seeing mentors, parents and adult players on the 24th. Angela Aherne Ladies Secretary.
Syls girls on Dublin Minor panel
Best wishes to Danielle and Kate on coming through a very rigorous selection process and making the final cut for the Dublin minor panel. Danielle played a key role for last year's minor team and Kate follows in her footsteps this year as she has two years left at this grade.
U14 girls D2 winners
Under 14 Girls were presented with medals and a trophy on Sunday evening to mark their great achievement in finishing top of Division 2 in their league. After a quiet (not really) Xmas lunch in The Scotch Bonnet, the girls were presented with their medals by Sinéad Ahern at an event in the club. Thanks to Sinéad for presenting the medals and for her words of encouragement to the girls. Thanks also to the many parents who turned up to whoop and applaud the players.
Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Annual Awards Evening 2016.
Sinead pictured on the outer left, was joint winner of the Dublin Senior Players Player of the year 2016 with Niamh Collins of FoxRock Cabinteely. Player of the year was awarded to Sinead Goldrick also of Foxrock Cabinteely. November has been a wonderful month for Sinead, picking up her 5th All Star, We Are Dublin Player of the year and the above award.
Girls' Under 14s Division 2 Play-Off Winners
Sylvester’s Under 14 girls had a great victory last Sunday over Plunket’s in a play-off that saw our girls win the division 2 title! The match itself was played at a thunderous pace throughout with both sides intent on winning the ultimate prize. The many spectators who turned up on a cold and wintry day were kept on their toes by a hotly contested battle from start to finish.

Congratulations to Sinead and also for her recent All Star nomination. She gets my vote but I'm sure that's no surprise. The nominees have today been announced for the TG4 Player’s Player of the Year awards with the overall winners set to be announced at the 2016 TG4 All Star Awards at the Citywest Hotel on November 12th. Briege Corkery could be set to win her third Player’s Player of the Year award and her second in a row as she is nominated for the award along with fellow 11 time TG4 All Ireland winner, Bríd Stack. Dublin’s Sinead Aherne is the third nominee for the honour following a series of brilliant performances throughout the year.
