U14 girls D2 winners
Under 14 Girls were presented with medals and a trophy on Sunday evening to mark their great achievement in finishing top of Division 2 in their league. After a quiet (not really) Xmas lunch in The Scotch Bonnet, the girls were presented with their medals by Sinéad Ahern at an event in the club. Thanks to Sinéad for presenting the medals and for her words of encouragement to the girls. Thanks also to the many parents who turned up to whoop and applaud the players.
Girls' Under 14s Division 2 Play-Off Winners
Sylvester’s Under 14 girls had a great victory last Sunday over Plunket’s in a play-off that saw our girls win the division 2 title! The match itself was played at a thunderous pace throughout with both sides intent on winning the ultimate prize. The many spectators who turned up on a cold and wintry day were kept on their toes by a hotly contested battle from start to finish.
U14 girls win in the heat of FoxCab
Syls u-14 Girls Vs. Foxrock/Cabinteely Duel in the Sun We conceded a few early scores in this game, played on a scorching hot day on the hard ground of FoxCab’s ground in Kilboggett Park However, despite the heat, our girls stuck to their task throughout the first half and remained competitive in what was turning out to be quite a physical and challenging game in which the referee was kept busy. There were quite a few stoppages in play, and some injuries, though, happily, none of these turned out to be serious

Girls under -14s at Féile 2016
Our girls performed heroically at Thomas Davis on Saturday in wet and mucky conditions in Tallaght. Although we did not progress to the finals we were more than competitive in all our games and indeed lost two of them by only the closest of margins. Despite the conditions it was a great experience for us both on, and off, the field.
U14 girls played St Pats Wicklow on Good Friday
Good Friday last was a big day for our under-14 girls. A top team from Wicklow, St. Patrick’s GAA Club had contacted us and challenged us to a game in preparation for Féile 2016. They are a division one team with a good track record and a top place in their division in the league in Wicklow We agreed to play them and to welcome them to Sylvester’s as we, too, are Féile-bound next weekend (Thomas Davis in Tallaght) and a tough challenge was what what we needed. We got permission from the powers that be in the LGFA to play an inter-county match, booked the referee, and we were ready to go.
U14 girls win again at Fingallians
Under 14 ladies get another result on the road, away to Fingallians. The sylvesters girls had to dig deep after going behind to a quick goal and a point from fingallians girls.The through spirit of this teams shun through with there never give up attitude, termination and fitness the girls ran out an impressive score lin of 1-8 to 8-5.The girls next match is home to Beann Eadair in Bloomfield at 1300 this coming Saturday. We hope to see their.
U14 girls 5k walk/run in Malahide Castle
Sixteen of Sylvester’s under-14 girls completed a 5k sponsored run in Malahide Castle on Sunday morning March 6th. Thanks to their efforts the girls raised a considerable sum of money to help fund their trip to Féile 2016. Thanks also to their generous sponsors and to the intrepid parents/guardians (and the two dogs) who joined in on the run/walk.
U14 girls off to a flying start
Under 14 ladies had a great start to this seasons league with their first game against O'Toole's, on sunday in division 2 beating them by 12-9 to 4-2. There was great performances all round and some great scores from the forwards. It was a physical but fair battle with fantastic support.
U14 girls preparing for Feile
The new Ladies Committee are putting a focus in March on the the girls Feile coming up in April. We have a good setup here after a very good year in Div2 in 2015.
