Minor Football Championship starts Sunday - U15s also playing a C'ship quarter final
Minor As play Clontarf in Broomfield in the A Championship at 11.00am. They've been going well n Div2 and it promises to be a good game of football, get along and support them if you can. This game is followed by the U15A Championship quarter final against Castlenock. I think we should start charging, two great games to watch. The Minor B team are away to Geraldine Morans at Cornelscourt. Go for it lads.

I would like to send our congratulations Fergal on the Harps gaining promotion to Division1 Senior Football for the first time in their long history with their win on Saturday evening.. Looking forward to a new local derby.
Minor Hurlers draw with Fingallians
MHC-B: Syls 1-15 Fingallions 1-15 Smashing game of hurling, a credit to both teams and a draw a fair result. Syls could have won it having recovered from a slow start and held a three point lead for much of the second half but a late Fins goal put them ahead. We recovered with a Sean Graham point and a lead from Danial Murphy but a good Fins point pegged us back at the death.
Footballers lose to Judes
I think another 4 point loss, disappointing second half performance, missing a lot of players this evening.

Minor B Hurlers win in the C'ship
MHC C St Sylvesters B 3-08 Wild Geese 0-07 Some revenge for a league final loss at Oldcastle, two early goals set us up for the win.

AHL6 v Kevins
AHL6: Kevins 4-14 Syls 1-14 Sunday 28th August 2016 : Dolphin Park Despite the concession of 2 goals we worked our way back into the match and were only 2 points adrift with HT approaching. Unfortunately Kevins scored their 3rd goal on the stroke of HT and all our good work was undone.

Congratulations Dublin and Kerry
What a fabulous game in Croke Park today. Congratulations to both Kerry and Dublin, and very well done to Dublin proving that they are indeed one of the great teams, with a brilliant second half display. Hope the final can match this.
Dubs beat Mayo with a last kick point from Sinead Aherne
Dublin just about made it into the All Ireland Ladies Football final at Breffni Park on Saturday, thanks to a last kick of the game free converted from distance and a difficult angle by player of the match Sinead Aherne. After an opening twenty minutes dominated by Dublin, who led at that stage by 8 points, they went into defensive mode for the last 10 minutes of the half and led by just 6 points at half time.
Hurling Championship off again
The hurling championship game fixed for this week has been postponed by CCC due to some mixup in fixtures. This is on top of the hurlers getting a walk-over from St Vincents in the league last week and the previous championship game v Vincents called off due to no ref being available.
15 hurlers lose at Na Fianna
Well beaten on the end after a good start where we matched Na Fianna at 4 points each but they got a goal and a few points and suddenly a gap opened. We lost a midfielder to a red card and struggled to compete afterwards.
Disappointing loss at Brigids
AFL1 St Brigids 1-09 St Sylvesters 0-08 Definitely a game we should have won. Just did not convert up front, simple as that. We recovered from a slow start against the wind with a couple of Conor Meaney points, Micháel hit one and Garry another and we looked good at 5 to 4. A foul on Garry somehow resulted in a quick break for Brigids and they goaled and pointed and suddenly had dailight between us. Playing into wind and rain, conditions were certainly difficult, but we did create about 6 more scoring chances but poor shooting and wrong options conspired against us.
The Same Struggle But A Very Different Reward - The Life Of A Female GAA Player
Winter training is the toughest: wind, rain, mud. MAS (Maximum Aerobic Speed) runs until every muscle burns. Work during the day. Gym sessions after, deadlifts, pull-ups, press-ups, squat jumps, burpees and mountain climbers past the burn. Pushing bodies through exhaustion for passion and pride. It's worth it on game day, travelling with the team, the satisfaction of putting on the county jersey, representing your county, getting in the zone, surrounded by teammates running out to...
The Big Dream Day Out -Croke Park Experience for our U8's
A big day in store for our U8 Footballers & Hurlers who head to Croke Park on Tuesday 23rd to represent the Club in the Leinster GAA Experience. They'll play 2 matches on the hallowed turf and a great family day is expected. Hopefully this is the first of many visits to Croker for these young lads in the years ahead. Many thanks to Corcoran Chemicals for their continued support of this team
Junior A hurlers go out to Skerries
JHC-C-Q Final: Skerries 4-18 Syls 0-9, Sunday 14th August 2016 – Skerries The final score-line is a bit harsh on us. We were only 3 points adrift at HT having missed a couple of goal chances. Skerries started the 2nd half with more intent and rattled off 3 points before getting that crucial goal which in truth put the match beyond us. We struggled after that, and even the injection of over 100 years experience..!! in the form of Pat Hoyne, Declan Markey and Derek Roche couldn’t turn it around and in fairness to Skerries (who are a Division ahead of us in the league) they pushed on and ran out comfortable winners.
Junior hurlers lose to Castlenock in C'ship QF
JHC F Castlenock 2-14 St Sylvesters 0-16 Just ran away from us in the last quarter, Castlenock were able to strengthen the team from the line while we had no replacements and just couldn't quite hold onto them. Two early goals put us in the hole, we got back to a point deficit a few times but probably needed the goal to get us ahead and didn't manage one fro a few chances.
Dublin make Ladies semifinal in great tussle with Donegal. Syls girls do well.
Dublin Ladies got a scare in the All Ireland quarter final v Donegal and, while Donegal certainly put it up to Dublin, the Dubs were largely responsible for the predicament they found themselves in. They should have been well ahead at half time but instead were a goal behind, due mainly to lots of shocking passing errors and a few bad shooting misses as well as conceding a soft goal through a mix-up between full back and keeper. In the end, they won 1-13 to 2-7.
AHERNE leads the way on the scoreboard for the Dub's
Heading into Saturday's TG4 All Ireland QF versus Donegal, Dublin will be looking to four times All Star forward Sinead Aherne to continue to hit the form she has shown so far this season. Aherne leads the Dublin score chart with 2-18 (24) having played in all four of Dublin's Leinster championship victories. Lyndsey Davey is closing in on Aherne's tally with 2-11 while Carla Rowe and Nicole Owens are on 2-8 apiece in joint third spot.
